About the Tour
The Share the Road Tour 2010 has taken all the great aspects from the 2009 Canberra-Melbourne Tour and added even more excitement, luxury and money can’t buy experiences.
Participants will ride to raise funds for the Amy Gillett Foundation to assist in the Foundation’s quest to reduce the incidence of death and injury caused by the interaction of cyclists and other road users – Sharing the Road more safely.
Our riders will meet like-minded people in a great social atmosphere, and will enjoy the thrills of a challenging Tour, including great cycling locations (that regular Sydney riders even don’t get to), whilst enjoying the best food and accommodation that the regions visited have to offer.
To top it off, they will cycle shoulder to shoulder with many of Australia’s cycling greats.
Quotes from 2009 participants:
“Fantastic event and experience. A true melding of having fun but also doing something good for a sport and a cause we all relate to and care about”
“Camaraderie. Arriving at the end each day and getting into the pool (or eating an ice cream or having a cold beer). Proving to myself I could do it. A little bit of friendly competitiveness”
“This text box is clearly too small to tell you all the great things about the ride – at the end of the day it is all about the people…the riders, the organisers, the support crew – are all wonderful people – engaging, interesting”
‘Having ex pros riding with the bunch was invaluable. One can always learn more.’
